Registration Open for Kids Summer Program
TELEGRAPH HERALD Saturday, May 4, 2013
St. Mark Community Center is now accepting registrations from the community for its six-week summer program that will feature field trips and experiential lessons. This year's theme is "Dig into Reading."
The annual program is open to students entering grades one through five in the fall. Cost is $120 per student; however, there are scholarships available for those who are in need.
Families can register online at www.smccdbq.org.
The program will be noon to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday with some extended hours for field trips from June 17 through Aug. 2. There will be no classes held July 1-5.
New this year, there will be an option for extended care from 4 to 5:15 p.m.
There are six weekly themes built into the program's overall theme: Dinosaurs and Discovery, The Great Outdoors, Kids Create and Excavate, Where the Wild Things Are, Wheels, Gears and Wings, and Sneetches on the Beaches.
In addition to field trips, lunch and a snack are provided. Each student also will receive a book each week.
